New Applicants

U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or political asylees who have a high school diploma or GED, have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 on any previous college coursework, AND fit any ONE of the following categories are eligible Extended Education applicants:

Undergraduate, non-degree students (more than one term)

• Are 24 years of age or older
• Have been out of high school for at least 4 years
• Have a bachelor’s degree or higher

Transient/visitor students (one term per year)

• Are currently enrolled at another college or university and wish to transfer credits back to their home institution (Please note that transient/visitor students are limited to one term of enrollment per 12 consecutive months.)
• Note: Recent high school graduates entering their first term of college after high school are ineligible for Extended Education.

Generally, international students must demonstrate the following academic achievements:

• Secondary school diploma or GED
• A cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale (or your country’s equivalent as determined by Undergraduate Admissions) for all post-high school and university-level coursework
• In good standing with other colleges or universities attended

In addition, international applicants must:

• Be 24 years of age and have graduated from high school to enroll as undergraduate, non-degree students
• OR Be in a degree-seeking program at another university and wish to transfer Ohio State credit back to that institution to enroll as transient/visitor students
