Drops and Refunds

Professional and Continuing Education should fit into your busy schedule. If you’ve registered for a course but can no longer participate, you may be eligible to receive a refund.

How do I drop a course?

Life happens. When your circumstances change, you can submit a Drop Request for the Professional and Continuing Education course you’ve registered for.

To make a Drop Request:

  1. Log in to the Registration System using Ohio State Login.
  2. Select My Enrollment History from the Registration System dropdown or left sidebar.
  3. Locate the course you would like to drop under My Current Courses.
  4. Note the course number and title and the date that you enrolled.
  5. Reach out to Enrollment Support using the Contact Us form. Include the following information in your message:
    • Your full name,
    • The course number and title for the course you want to drop,
    • Your enrollment date, and
    • Your reason for dropping the course.

Enrollment Support will manually process your Drop Request and reach out with confirmation that you have been withdrawn.

Some drops will be eligible for a refund—see Terms and Conditions for details about the refund policy.

What is the refund process?

Review the Terms and Conditions to check if you are eligible for a refund.

After your Drop Request is received, it will be reviewed by the Enrollment Support team. If you are eligible for a refund, staff will manually process your refund and remit payment. Please allow 60 days for the funds to arrive and the transaction to show in My Account History.

What if my course is canceled?

Professional and Continuing Education at The Ohio State University may occasionally cancel or reschedule courses due to low enrollment or other unanticipated events. Please refer to the Terms and Conditions for details on the cancellation policy.
